Travel Note
During the before and after the wedding several Israeli holidays will be happening. The first is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Rosh Hashanah begins October 2nd, and ends on the 4th. Following the wedding is the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. Beginning the evening of October 11th and lasting through the 12, this is a day of fasting. During Yom Kippur, stores will not be open and cars will not be on the roads. Please be cognizant and prepare beforehand the necessary items of food you will need. If you will be staying in Israel for an extended time after the wedding, you may have the joy of witnessing Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles! This is one of the feasts commanded in the Bible (Leviticus 23:34-43). It is a time of remembering Israel's exile in the wilderness, where they wandered and dwelt in sukkot (tents). Sukkot lasts seven days. It begins this year on October 16th.
