How We Met

February 17, 2014

The two of us had seen each other in December of 2013 at our local Rec Center and had showed a quiet interest in the other in the months prior to us speaking. At the time though, neither of us had worked up the courage to speak to the other. Quick glances and small smiles were as far as we got. Little did we know that a mutual friend of ours was working up a plan to introduce the two of us, since it was obvious we needed a little push. It was the week after Valentine's Day when she was finally able to get us to introduce ourselves. We were both incredibly nervous and painfully shy and could hardly even look at each other without turning bright red! Looking back on it now, it seems so funny that we were so quiet and timid because we definitely aren't now! We hit it off immediately and the more we got to know each other, the more we started spending time together. It was March 6th when we finally made it official and we were both so ecstatic! As you may guess, we've been tied to the hip ever since!

The Big Question

March 6, 2017

Fast forward 3 years and we're still as crazy about each other as we were when we first started dating! At this point, we knew we would get married but we hadn't made any steps yet. We had decided a few months prior that we would take a trip to Chattanooga for a quick vacation since we had both been working nonstop and needed a break. The more we thought about it, we decided it would be a sweet idea to invite his mom to come with us since she hadn't been to Chatt since her kids were little. We woke up early morning on March 6 (our 3 year anniversary) and were excited to start our relaxing weekend! After we got to Chattanooga and visited a few of our favorite places, we decided to head up to Sunset Rock in the mountains to watch the sunset and take in the beautiful view. His mom loves taking pictures and had positioned us sitting next to each other on the edge of the mountain facing out toward the sunset. I was still completely oblivious as to what was about to happen! She then asked us to stand up and face her so could get a few good pictures of us and the lovely scenery. I hopped right up and was getting ready for the pictures but I noticed Chris hadn't stood up yet. I turned around to see what in the world he was doing and there he was, down on one knee with a stunning engagement ring, asking me to be his wife! I was completely blown away and over the moon! We were finally on our way to getting married! Needless to say, I ecstatically said 'yes' and the wedding planning began!
