Things To Do

Loon Mountain Resort

60 Loon Mountain Road, Lincoln, NH 03251
, (800) 229-5666

There are a bunch of activities at Loon that are fun for the whole family. There are caves at the top to explore, there's a short hike (a walk really) with informational plaques, a playground, and even a snack bar. If you want you can go up early on the wedding day, but be sure to bring sneakers, a change of clothes, and be back at the Mountaintop Amphitheater on time. :) If you want to spend more time on Loon Mountain, there are also trail maps of longer hikes you can take and mountain bike rentals and trails. In the past they've had an alpine slide and rock climbing wall, but I'm not sure if those are still available.

Alpine Adventures

41 Main Street, Lincoln, NH 03251
, (603) 745-9911

They offer zip lines, adventure courses, off-road tours and more. We've never been but it seems like fun for the whole family. Maybe we'll see you there!

Flume Gorge

852 Daniel Webster Hwy, Lincoln, NH 03251

This hike is mostly or entirely on a boardwalk with stairs. The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of Conway granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart. The Flume Trail is a 2-mile loop starting at the check-in booths located in front of the Flume Building. The Short Trail/Rim Path is closed and the only option is to complete the full 2 mile loop. The entire loop takes approximately 1.5 hours and finishes at the Flume Building. The walk includes uphill walking and lots of stairs. The boardwalk allows you to look closely at the growth of flowers, ferns and mosses found here.

Mount Pemigewasset

Lincoln, NH 03580

A great 1/2 day hike. We did this hike with the kids. It takes less than 2 hours to get up, so less than 4 hours round trip, although you should give yourself time at the top to take in the views and eat some delicious summit snacks. It's pretty easy. There are a couple ways up, so consult a map or the Alltrails app to find the right trailhead. However, once you get there it's popular enough you can probably just follow the other people to get to the summit. The top is rocky with great views. There are some steep drop-offs so be careful with small children. Don't let them run around and stay away from the edge.

For all the days along the way
