Matt and Ali found love in hopeless place, which is the pandemic of course. Their first date consisted of takeout margaritas and walk around India Point Park in Providence. 2 Margaritas and 3 miles later, Matt and Ali found themselves in Prospect Park overlooking Downtown where they chatted about life and everything in between. From there, wine and charcuterie nights became a regular Friday night occurrence. Not long after, Matt and Ali realized they were supposed to be set up 10 years earlier at URI, I guess one of their groomsmen knew they were meant to be even back then! Newport also played a huge role in their relationship. It was their "stay-cation" destination many times during COVID and a no-brainer when Matt was deciding where to propose. After cocktails and oysters at one of their favorite restaurants 41 North, Matt dropped to one knee on Hammett's Warf and asked Ali to marry him. After a very excitable "YES," they began planning and knew they wanted to celebrate their nuptials where they have shared many of their favorite memories, Newport, RI. Flashforward almost three years later, Matt and Ali have a house in Warwick, RI, a dog named Gemma, and countless memories from the ski slopes to the Caribbean. Matt has mastered the art of the charcuterie board, Ali has learned the meaning of a hockey "Power Play", and to Matt's credit are both are proud URI basketball season ticketholders. They are a great team and know when they're together, there are going to be lots of laughs. They balance one another out and can't imagine this life without each other!
