Is 7th grade too early to meet your soul mate? Well, we didn't know we were soulmates at first. We just knew we were the best of friends. It didn't take long for us to forge a close friendship once we met; it just happened super naturally, like it was always meant to be. And, minus a brief 2 week period of "dating" (if that's even what you call it at that age), we remained very close friends until the 10th grade. Now, we won't go into the details but let's just say high school relationships can strain friendships and that's just how it goes sometimes. Skip to senior year when, through a series of events, we decided we wanted to go to Senior Prom together. This is where the story gets good.
It's a bit funny to look back and see that our story really started because of prom... super cheesy but also kind of romantic, right? Anyway, once we decided to go to prom together we rekindled our friendship immediately. What we didn't realize when we were younger became obvious pretty quickly now that we were spending so much time together-- not only was there a strong friendship between the two of us, but something much more right under the surface just waiting for the right time to emerge. It didn't take long for both us to accept what we could no longer deny. We abandoned the friend zone to plunge head first into the unknown territory of a relationship. But man, was the risk worth it.
Though our journey over the past 7, almost 8, years hasn't been a simple one, it has been more than we could've hoped for. Full of laughter, obstacles, growth, and love-- what a beautiful and hard and wonderful adventure we've only just begun. November 12, 2021 marks the best day of our lives thus far, the day we got engaged. We truly could not have ever imagined that the two best friends from 7th grade would ever find such an irrevocable love between the two of them, but how grateful we are that they did. Thank you all for the part you’ve played in our story and for loving and supporting us along the way! We can't wait to celebrate with you all who we love so dearly!
