Our Story…

Kristin and Lucas had seen each other around their college campus but hadn’t interacted. The two only realized their mutual attraction after they both happened to swipe right on Tinder in mid 2018. They first met up to test their connection at Taco Bell on Arkansas Avenue. They immediately felt a spark and talked for hours. The lobby closed and they were promptly asked to continue their conversations outside. They didn’t even notice the cold and continued to get to know each other in the 35° weather. Lucas says he initially fell for Kristin because of her ability to make him laugh, her passion for serving the community, and her intelligence. Kristin says her attraction to Lucas was brought on by his humor and relaxed approach to life. Kristin and Lucas consider their first date to be attending the annual charity drag show at Arkansas Tech. After approximately 5 dates Kristin had to initiate their first kiss since Lucas was 'nervous' but obviously, the relationship thrived. Inevitably, the two became Facebook official in October of 2018. Lucas said, ‘I love you' first but the feelings were mutual. On March 10th, 2019 the couple found ‘their song’. Kansas-based country singer Cameron Hawthorne released his 3-minute 44-second piece titled ‘Dancing in the Living Room’ with the accompanying music video. This will be their first dance song. In the following June, Kristin moved into the Morrilton house with Lucas (and his 2 roommates). Their patience and relationship were tested for several hours in attempts to build a stand-alone wardrobe system. The relationship stands strong but the wardrobe is a little wobbly. In the Spring of 2019, Lucas suffered several health complications. While this was a scary time for both they were able to be there for each other in these tough times and focus on Lucas' recovery. Fortunately, they persisted and by October 2019 the couple decided to move back to Russellville into their first rented home together. The relationship survived through the peaks of the international pandemic with Lucas fixating on plants and Kristin taking up diamond painting. Kristin graduated with her degrees in May 2020. Prior to asking the big question; they were enjoying a luxury picnic and playing card games while listening to music. Lucas proposed to Kristin on May 29th, 2021 at Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville, Arkansas. In July of 2021, the two moved approximately 640+ miles away to Iowa, the Hawkeye state; for Kristin to pursue her master's degree at the University of Dubuque. However, they have since decided they are ‘not snow people’ and the two hope to move back to Arkansas after her graduation. Needless to say, they have been through a lot but persisted and are excited to be sharing their special day with you.
