We're Eloping!

Keeping up with our flare for the untraditional- we decided to elope during our Eurotrip this summer! While we would love for you all to be there, we wanted to be ultra efficient and have our engagement, wedding and honeymoon all in one (haha). We plan to have a private ceremony on the beach to exchange vows in Barcelona followed by dinner and a night exploring the city. Our favorite part of any wedding we've ever been to is listening to the speeches of loved ones - so in lieu of speeches - we ask if you would be willing to share some thoughts on paper for us to read together after our ceremony. Throughout their time in college together, they crossed paths multiple times; even living in the same apartment building and exchanging phone numbers. It wasn't until JJ's final year in Tallahassee, 2014, did fate bring them together and their love begin to grow. From the beginning, they felt as if they were soulmates. There was one problem, JJ was soon leaving to Denver to pursue his pharmD and Lena was finishing nursing school. The first two years of their relationship were long-distance. While not ideal, their connection and frequent visits made it *almost* easy. They knew if they could overcome the distance, they could overcome anything. The next five years were spent in Denver together and filled with adventure, personal growth and a deepening of their love. Colorado was great, but never felt like home so it was an easy leap to their next journey, back to Florida to pursue JJ's career and just in time. Within the first two months of being back in Florida, they found out they were expecting. Leonardo Alexander has now joined their family and made them complete. Nine years, two dogs, five homes and one son later they want to finally celebrate their love story together 🤍
