Having just moved to San Diego, Lauren was celebrating her friend Kevin's (Bridesman) birthday in Gaslamp. For Jimmy, it was a typical Saturday downtown with Sean (Best Man). Thankfully Lauren's love for Disney and Jimmy switching up his normal routine led us both to an Alice in Wonderland-themed speakeasy, Vin De Syrah. We spotted each other from across the dance floor and with the courage of vodka soda and long island iced tea, we struck up a conversation and exchanged numbers. 3 days later we had our first date, which was quickly followed by 4 more outings. Jimmy asked Lauren to be his girlfriend on Super Bowl Sunday (very on-brand for him), and the rest is history! Over the past 4 years, we've met each other's families, have traveled to many new places, bought a house, became unofficial co-workers with remote work, and co-parents to our fur baby, Romey.
With Jimmy's family visiting from NY, a proposal was the perfect way to kick-off the holiday season. Under the guise of taking holiday photos with his niece and nephew, Jimmy said we needed to leave for dinner reservations a little early. We hopped into the car and drove down to Seaport Village. Once arriving, we headed toward the waterfront and walked along the San Diego Bay until the Coronado bridge was positioned perfectly behind us. Jimmy stopped walking and got down on one knee, even planning out photography and filming duties with Sean. A few tears and repeated "YES'S!!" later, we were engaged!
