FAQs

You got a question. We got an answer. For any additional inquiries, please contact Lauren or Jimmy via email.
Question

Attire

Answer

The attire for the Welcome Party is casual. Attire for the wedding ceremony and reception is semiformal. Dudes: Suits, tie optional. Ladies: The events will primarily take place outside so take your footwear into careful consideration. For everyone: We also recommend an evening jacket or wrap as the temperatures can drop into the low 40s after dark. However, dinner and dancing take place in a heated space.

Question

Transportation to the Welcome Party

Answer

We will not be providing group transportation to the Welcome Party on July 4th at The Mountain Wedding Garden. There are approximately 30 parking spaces at the venue. Other than those that are pregnant, have children attending, or have health concerns, we ask that you please carpool. The Mt CB Condo Bus (red line) leaves from The Lodge at Mountaineer Square and will drop passengers at the venue (Town Hall stop) at :11 and :41 after the hour. Additionally, there is free parking in the ski lot associated with Crested Butte Mountain Resort and the Welcome Party venue is approximately a 0.9 mile walk away. http://www.mtnexp.org/schedules-routes/summer/mt-cb-summer-condo-bus/

Question

Transportation to the Wedding

Answer

There is no parking lot at the venue so we will provide transportation to the ceremony and reception. If you would like to ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain we will have a shuttle pickup at the top of the Red Lady chairlift, located directly behind The Lodge at Mountaineer Square. Any guests staying at a Crested Butte Mountain Resort property will receive as many lift tickets as guests registered to that room. Ticket pickup for all wedding guests is still TBD. If you are not into riding the lift, there will be a shuttle pickup at the front of The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, not in the traffic circle where the town shuttles are located. The bus will leave the front of LMS at 4:15PM. Those riding the chairlift should be on it or in line for it at 4PM. Shuttles departing Ten Peaks begin at 9:00 PM and run every half hour. The final shuttle will depart the mountaintop at 11:15 PM. Please see the Travel page for more details.

Question

Unplugged Ceremony

Answer

We kindly ask that you pocket your phone, camera, and other devices during the ceremony- this is very important to us. We’ve asked a professional photographer to capture this special moment so that you can sit back, relax, and enjoy it with us. Our beautiful images will be available after the wedding. And once we're at the reception, please feel free to go camera-crazy and utilize our hashtag: #LaurenAndJimmyDoiItInTheButte

Question

Kids

Answer

We would love to high five your little ones at the Welcome Celebration on 7/4. Although we adore your tykes, we request that they not attend the festivities on 7/5. We have provided some resources in order to set up babysitting services below. Or we encourage you to convince your families to come on vacation and Grandma and Grandpa can be in charge! We do have several friends with children and would be happy to help connect you to set up a group babysit/play date. Question

Altitude Sickness

Answer

Being at higher elevations can cause lightheadedness, headaches, nausea, and shortness of breath for some. The number one way to prevent altitude sickness is to stay very hydrated and minimize your intake of alcohol. If you have a pre-existing condition in which you are at higher risk for altitude sickness, consider renting a tank of supplemental oxygen, there are retailers in Crested Butte and Denver. The town of CB sits at about 9,000 feet and our venue is at approximately 10,000 feet. If at some point you start experiencing symptoms, the only sure way to cure altitude sickness is to descend from elevation. Our shuttle service will be happy to escort anyone down the mountain that acquires assistance. It is very rare for altitude sickness to affect people to this extent but it's important to take precautions by drinking plenty of water. Also of note, at higher elevations the air is thinner and therefore UV rays are stronger. The Ginga Ninja says, "stay vigilant with the sunscreen!"

Question

Bar

Answer

Beer, wine, and His and Her Signature Cocktails will be provided. All other liquor selections will be available as a cash bar (the venue accepts cash and credit cards).

Question

Marijuana

Answer

Yes it's legal here. Have all the fun you want but please DO NOT bring weed to the wedding. This would seem like a no-brainer in any case but deserves to be reiterated, particularly because our wedding venue is located on National Forrest land. CO is all about that legalization but your federal government still seems to have it out for us no-good hippies. Be cool, bro, don't be stupid.
