Curtiss and Lauren met the way that most couples meet these days... on a dating app. Curtiss sent Lauren a classic pick-up line, "Go Green!". Ten days later, Lauren responded with, "Go White!". A mutual love for Michigan State is what started their journey.
After moving from the dating app to texting, Curtiss asked Lauren out on their first date. They decided on a brewery halfway between Northville and Toledo in Milan, MI. Lauren was relieved to see Curtiss was not a catfish or a serial killer (that she knows of)! They ordered lunch and a few beers and talked for hours. By the time they left, it was nearly dinner time. Don't worry, Curtiss didn't let Lauren leave without having their first kiss!
Just a few months after their first date, COVID-19 shut down the world. Thanks to Facetime, Curtiss and Lauren spent hours talking on the phone, playing games with their friends and families online through zoom, and spending weeks at a quarantining time together. Because of all of this time together, their relationship grew quickly and strong. There was no one else that they would rather get through a pandemic with.
For Lauren's spring break, they drove down to Florida to stay with family and spend their days relaxing on the beach. Little did she know, Curtiss had more planned than just that. He planned a nice dinner out and a walk on the beach at sunset. He asked an unsuspecting stranger to take our photo. As she snapped the pictures, he got down on one knee asking Lauren to marry him. They both blacked out for a majority of the moment, but she said yes, and now they have the best pictures to remember the night.
