Question

Lauren, by Adam

Answer

Lauren was born and raised in Austin, Texas, as the youngest (and only sister!) of three older brothers—which means she grew up with a competitive spirit, a strong sense of loyalty, and an uncanny ability to hold her own in any sports debate. She studied Journalism (just like my mom did back in the day!) at the University of Texas, and now works in the commercial real estate title industry, where she has blossomed in her marketing role and ultimately convinced yours truly to become a broker. Lauren and I share a lot in common, which made getting to know each other feel effortless. We both have family ties to the D.C. area, Tennessee, and Alabama, and we both love watching sports—whether it’s catching a game on TV or experiencing the action in person. (And when it comes to Texas Longhorns football, let’s just say Saturdays in the fall are sacred in our house.) As if we weren’t already connected enough, I even share a birthday with her grandmother, which we like to think is just another sign that we were meant to be. Beyond all the things we have in common, what truly makes Lauren special is her heart. She’s thoughtful, sweet, and the kind of girl who makes everyone around her feel valued and appreciated. She’s my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who makes life more fun—whether we’re traveling somewhere new, debating which appetizer to order (spoiler: we get both), or just enjoying a quiet night in. From the moment we met, I knew she was someone special. And now, I can’t wait to spend forever with her.

Question

Adam, by Lauren

Answer

I never imagined I'd end up with a Northerner. Don't worry, he got to Texas as quickly as he could, but still. Nonetheless, Adam is the perfect match for me in so many ways: he's smart and steady, loves to cook and travel, and likes to be as busy as I do. He's confident and driven, has the biggest heart, and is always working to be the best version of himself. I love the little giggle he lets out when I catch him off-guard with a good joke or one-liner. I love that he can talk for hours uninterrupted about the Washington Commanders. And I especially love that he likes to over-order at restaurants just like I do. Classic Adam: takes one sip of Huckleberry Cider at a little farm in Spokane and immediately says "yeah, we'll get another one of these." Classic Adam: orders all three desserts plus the affogato and the espresso martini after dinner because why not, we have a fridge in the room! Whether it's trying new local bars and restaurants, attending concerts (do you know who Smino is? yeah, me neither) and sporting events (there's nothing like Saturdays at DKR. And don't even get us started on the College World Series!), or traveling to experience as many new places, foods and cultures as possible, he's committed to getting the most out of life, and it's a joy and privilege to be side by side with him for the ride.
