So, while not near the resort we are staying at for the wedding, it is a great addition to your trip if you plan to stay afterward (or arrive a little early) and explore on your own! There are many more ancient Mayan sites to visit throughout the country. You can find a list of some of the most popular ones here: https://belize.com/top-ten-maya-sites-in-belize/
San Pedro is the main (and only) town on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. It is about 7-ish miles south of the resort where the wedding will take place, but is a quick (15-20 minute) boat ride away - or if you’re feeling really adventurous, you can rent a golf cart for an evening and drive down yourself. There are lots of little beachfront bars and local restaurants to hang out or grab lunch or dinner in, if you want to explore the town and try some local food, away from the resort restaurant. A few options: 1. Wayos Beach Bar Beachfront, Boca del Rio Drive, San Pedro 2. Crazy Canucks Beach Bar South Coconut Drive, San Pedro 3. Coco Loco’s Beach Bar Tres Cocos Area, San Pedro 4. Feliz Bar & Grill 1/2 Mile North of the Bridge at the Cloisters Tres Cocos Area, San Pedro
