Black tie event. A Texan on the loose. And a whole mess of Gudewill’s. Christina and Nick's story began with a chance encounter at the Face of Today Charity Gala in Vancouver on February 28th, 2012. Christina was meeting her then boss, Emile, for a dirty martini at the ice bar and instead met her future husband. Though it wasn’t Nick or Christina who brokered the initial encounter, it was Emile who lassoed Nick! After a comment about how many "gude" looking guys were at the event, a complete stranger made the most important introduction of Nick’s life by bringing him in to make the first move. Christina thought he was cute, but could she run the gauntlet of Gudewill’s she would meet next. And by next, we mean she proceeded to meet his brother, then realizing he also had two sisters with him as they flirted around the party. Gudewill’s travel in packs and within minutes she had already met the family. Numbers were forcefully input into Nick’s phone as Christina’s was hovering at the standard 1% battery. Nick moved swiftly, taking the better part of a fortnight to actually arrange a first date. They met at Lolita’s for a margarita in the West End where they realized they had wayyyyy too much in common. After discovering they each frequented Cabo with their families and that Christina knew more about tequila than the margarita master himself, a drop off to the airport for Christina to meet her family arriving from Texas sealed the deal.
