How we met
Daniel and Katie met on a Spring Break service trip in college, building homes in West Virginia for victims of flooding. She fell in love with his easy-going, good-natured sense of humor as the new friends bounced from work-site to work-site in the Smoky Mountain foothills. Daniel was of course excited to spend time with a woman who laughed at his jokes. Their friendship grew back at the University of Michigan where they suddenly made excuses to join mutual study groups as often as possible… with that amount of studying, Daniel's grades had never been better. He dragged Katie to parties... but also helped her pass her Statistics course. She helped keep him hydrated at parties as a nursing student with way too much information on the effects of alcohol on the human body. It was a match made in heaven (Spring Break) that continued to develop into the love they have today.

The Monon Trail is an asphalt trail that stretches from the town of Westfield south to downtown Indianapolis. The section in Carmel is called the Monon Greenway which runs five miles from 146th Street to 96th Street. The greenway is lined with lovely wooded areas and there are several rest stops along the way.

How do we travel to the ceremony? Is there parking?
Answer
Parking is available at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. We recommend driving, car rental, or ride share options to and from ceremony.

How do we travel to the reception? Is there parking?
Answer
Parking is available at Mustard Seed Gardens but guest transportation buses will also be available to and from the reception venue and Fairfield Inn & Suites.

What can I expect from the ceremony?
Answer
The ceremony will be a full Catholic mass lasting about 1 hour with standing, sitting, and kneeling. For non-Catholics attending the ceremony, you are welcome to remain seated when the remaining congregation is kneeling. Non-Catholics are also welcome to either remain seated during Catholic communion - when we process to the altar to receive the body of Christ in the host - or may also process to the altar, with arms crossed on the chest, to receive a holy blessing from the priest. Only Catholic guests are to receive the host.

Answer
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event, except for Katie and Daniel's nieces and nephews, so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

We ask that your wear semi-formal attire. Please also consider the Fall weather/temperature in Indianapolis when it comes to your selection.
