On Sunday, January 31st, God answered our prayer. Landon talked with his cousin, Shanee who is also a good friend of mine, and mentioned he was single. Shanee let him know she may have someone for him and told him about me. That same day, Landon called and we talked for two hours and ended the night praying together. After our conversation and prayer, I knew Landon was sent from God. Since that day, Landon and I have talked and prayed on the phone every day-- morning and night. Five days later, Landon asked me to be his girlfriend!! He stated his intentions, and I knew that he was serious. I really knew he was serious when he reached out to my parents! We were in a distant relationship as Landon lives in Indiana and I live in Georgia. We started to take flights to see one another and meet each other's families. Throughout the months, Landon and I dated, danced, laughed, and most importantly, we worshipped together. As time passed, my relationship with God grew along with my relationship with Landon.
It didn't take long for me to realize Landon was the one. I prayed and asked God and he answered. God gave me more than I had asked for even with my LONG LIST! I knew Landon was the one God had saved for me. Landon knew too :) On May 6th, Landon came to my kindergarten classroom with flowers and a gift bag. He said, "On behalf of teacher appreciation week, I want to give these (large bouquet of flowers) to you and something else." He brought me two dozen roses all with different shades of pink, which is my favorite color and another special gift that would make me the happiest girl in the world!! Landon then got on his knee and asked me to be his wife!!!
In June, I went to a follow-up doctor's visit and was told that I would have to have surgery in a few months. I was devastated and very emotional. I called Landon to let him know and he immediately said he was coming to see me to be with me. I told him that I would be fine and I would see him in a few weeks. Landon said he wanted to be there for me so he bought his plane ticket that same day and was in Atlanta 3 hours later to be with me. Before the surgery, Landon and I prayed and studied the Word daily. After the surgery, Landon came to help take care of me and encourage me during my healing process. I thank God daily for sending Landon at such a time as this. After those surgery results, I had to come to the realization that Romans 8:28 is what I knew God was doing in my life. Everything was working for my good! I am confident that God knew that on this health journey I was going to need Landon.
With the love and support of our parents and families, we will share our vows before our family and friends. We can't wait to see everyone and share this moment with you on 11/21/21! We look forward to a lifetime together full of love, joy, and God's continuous blessings!
