We can’t wait to say “I DO!” in front of you!

Esteban and Lakia first met in December of 2013 when Lakia moved to San Diego from Atlanta. Lakia was a regular at the restaurant he was managing, and found him to be quite charming, kind, and easy on the eyes. They exchanged in casual conversation when she came in, but it wouldn't be another three years until they actually spent any time together outside of the restaurant. On February 7th, 2016, they finally had their first date that lasted four and a half hours closing down Ironside Restaurant. Esteban made it very clear to her of his intentions and that he was interested in pursuing her on a romantic level. Lakia told Esteban that she had no desire to ever be married or have children, and Esteban never pressured her into changing her mind or re-considering. He accepted her for who she was and loved her unconditionally. After five years of dating, moving in together, going through a pandemic, and adopting a dog, Lakia had a change of heart about marriage. She told her family and friends that she wanted to propose. On the evening of April 25th, 2023 she shared notes and memories with Esteban that she had been writing to him over the last few years with the last one stating "Your ring came in today. I can't wait to show it to you" and proposing in their San Diego apartment. Needless to say, he was shocked at the turn of events, and quickly said YES! On November 14th, 2023, as they were walking through a resort celebrating their mothers' birthdays, Esteban reversed the proposal at the Baha Mar resort in the Nassau, Bahamas with the most dreamy backdrop. And the rest is history! We said "Yes" to each other. Now, we're so thrilled you said "Yes" to joining us on our next journey together!
