How we met:

2013

Pretty short and simple. In our junior year of highschool we hung out in the same friend group. I obviously thought he was the cutest thing in the world and thanks to our friends we went on our first date on October 27, 2013 to the Greensboro Science Center and on November 3rd, 2013 we started dating. On November 3rd, 2020 we will be celebrating our 7th anniversary and on November 7th, 2020 in our 7th year of being together we will become Mr. and Mrs. Rogers!

How he asked:

10/9/18

In our senior year of college we decided that for our last fall break we would take our first vacation together just the two of us! We decided on Charleston, SC and found ourselves a little tiny house to stay in! Kurtis can tell you that the trip did not get off to a good start. It began with me getting a speeding ticket (oops) and us messing up the leather interior of his mom’s car (Sorry Amanda). One day we spent the entire day exploring all downtown Charleston had to offer and we fell in love. The next day we left our little tiny house and drove to a town outside of Charleston to North America’s only tea plantation (we’re old we know). After that we decided to go to James Island and visit the oldest tree this side of the Mississippi, the Angel Oak Tree. This tree was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. We sat on a bench to take it all in, talked about us and at the time the almost 5 years we had spent together. We got up and asked this nice couple if they minded taking a few pictures of us. As I fix my hair and got ready the nice girl started to take a few pictures. Out of the corner of my eye I see Kurtis shift and when I turned my head I was in complete shock. The most beautiful place just became even more perfect and with tears in both of our eyes I said “YES!” For the next 30 minutes I was in complete shock. I get to marry my best friend and the man of dreams and nothing makes me happier! We told a select few family members and our best friends but we decided to keep it off social media until the next evening when we got home. We spent the night and next day enjoying being engaged and this new season of life and we are so excited to get married!

For all the days along the way
