Krystan and Joshua's love story is a unique but nostalgic one. Almost 10 years ago, the two first crossed paths at their local middle school. Krystan knew of Joshua from seeing him around school and frequently saw him playing basketball in the gym before class started. However, he had never noticed her. A few years later, they crossed paths for the second time at their local church. They still never paid much attention to each other, but knew of each other and were in each other's presence often. Joshua soon moved away due to his family relocating for his father's job and the two were again separated. Over the next 9 years the two would be located on opposite sides of the country. Joshua would be located in Arizona due to joining the Marine Corps, and Krystan in North Carolina. Fast forward to 2023, Krystan was in the middle of completing her final semesters of school when she noticed a direct message from someone she knew on Instagram. It was from Joshua! All of the memories she had of him came flooding back and she gladly responded to his message. The two conversed for the next few days, catching up on all that happened in the time in between. He mentioned to Krystan that he was coming home soon for his grandma Mary's birthday and would love to catch up with her if she was available. Without hesitating, Krystan said yes to his offer. It was a date! They met up at a local pottery painting shop and grabbed Chick-Fil-A all while catching up with each other. Both developed strong feelings for each other after their first date, and continued dating even with a distance of over 2 hours between them. After a few months and eventful dates later, Krystan and Joshua were head over heels for each other and knew exactly where their relationship was headed. On September 1st, 2024, Joshua got on one knee and popped the question. Caught off guard, Krystan was shocked that he proposed so unexpectantly. But one thing she knew for sure, was her love for Joshua and how much he loved her. With that in mind she said YES to forever and to a new last name, Cherry.
