Kristin and Matt met while they were both working at the outdoor store REI in Tysons Virginia. After a few delightful and charming interactions, Matt stood out from the dozens of 20 something, 5’10, outdoorsy, guys, working at the store. Toward the end of a long shared shift, Matt suggested that they relax by "crushing things in his truck". Confused by the suggestion, she still accepted. They piled up large cardboard boxes and drove through them with his jeep, while he taught her how to drive stick shift. They later went to a landmark in the area where Kristin challenged Matt to a competition to run up a rounded wall as high as they each could. Kristin had done this several times throughout her childhood, and had preconceived notions about respectable and attainable heights. Matt SHATTERED these thoughts and, two days later, the building had added a metal post to stop anyone from playing the game in the future. As the weeks went on, Kristin and Matt spent more and more time together, gradually becoming best friends. They bonded over a shared love of dogs, adventure, and games. While driving to Baltimore, for a small acrobatics performance Kristin was in, they realized that they had accidentally started dating and fallen in love! Six years, five homes, two weddings, one deployment, and a pandemic later, they are finally ready to celebrate with all of you!
