The Mummers Parade is a Philadelphia New Year's Day tradition. It begins at City Hall and continues south to Washington Avenue. While the performers put on a show throughout the entire shindig, three special performance areas are designated along South Broad Street, also known as the Avenue of the Arts.

A visit to the Magic Gardens offers a colorful, surreal escape from everyday life. Spanning half a block, the museum includes an immersive outdoor art installation and indoor galleries. The artist, Zagar, created the space using nontraditional materials such as folk art statues, found objects, bicycle wheels, colorful glass bottles, hand-made tiles, and thousands of glittering mirrors.
