The Day They Could Have Met: On July 24th of 2020, Kiara’s friend & mission companion, Marlie, and Bronson’s friend since high school, John, held a reception to celebrate their marriage. Both Kiara & Bronson were in the bridal party, but never officially met. Apparently, the time wasn’t right yet 🤷🏼♀️ The Day They Virtually Met: Soon after Kiara moved to Utah in the beginning of 2021, Marlie invited her to join an online game of Among Us with Bronson and other friends. They were briefly introduced then, and enjoyed a good time playing this “sus” game 🤔 The Day They Officially Met: A couple days after the game of Among Us, Marlie & John invited both Kiara & Bronson over for dinner and board/card games. While playing, they got to know each other a little more. They eventually learned that they both lived in the same apartment complex. After the fun ended, Bronson helped Kiara take her big box of games to her car, and asked for her phone number. They had a few more game nights with John & Marlie, and hung out with other good friends like Ian, Becca, and Brendan. In March, Bronson finally asked Kiara to go on their first date with him to the Museum of Art at BYU, after learning of her love of art. The rest is history 😉
On the morning of Valentine’s Day, Bronson arrived at Kiara’s apartment with roses and lilies to give her. Beaming brightly, Kiara smelled the flowers and displayed them on her desk. Afterwards, they both got in Bronson’s car to go to Kneaders. However, when approaching the turn to go to the restaurant, Bronson continued driving and skipped it! Kiara, who was instantly suspicious, pointed out that he missed the turn. With a cheeky grin, Bronson just said “oops! Well… it’s a nice day. Let’s just drive out a little further.” Eventually, Bronson pulled in to a park and looked around. He got out of the car and opened the door for Kiara. He was trying to hide something, but wasn’t doing a very good job veering Kiara’s attention away from him. Hand in hand, he walked her down to an open space by the Provo River. It was there that he got on his knee, pulled out a box, and said “Kiara, would you do me the honor of being my eternal Valentine? In other words, will you marry me?” He opened the box, revealing a rosegold ring with a morganite stone. Kiara, with happiness in her voice, responded “Yes. Of course I will.”
Tuesday 14th: We visited the San Diego Zoo! We had a lot of fun there. Kiara’s favorite part was seeing the red panda walking around its tree branches and Bronson’s favorite was watching two African elephants playing in the water. Wednesday 15th: We toured “Old Town” in San Diego. We took a tour of the Mormon Battalion Historic Site and walked around the Old Town shops, ate some Mexican food, drank root beer floats and bought cool souvenirs Thursday 16th: SeaWorld day! We had a blast going on the few rides there! We enjoyed the Orca and Dolphin shows, but Kiara’s favorite part was petting the bat rays (her favorite sea creature!) and Bronson loved feeding the sea lions and barking at them. Friday 17th: We took a trip to the San Diego Temple and participated in some sealing ordinances. The temple is beautiful, inside and out. After, we went to La Jolla Cove to rest on the sand, play in the ocean and watch all the wild sea lions bask in the sun and bark at everything.
