Katherine and Grant were both living in Provo during the hectic COVID summer of 2020. Before the bride and groom met, Katherine was staying busy taking her last few online classes at BYU, and Grant was working full time at Acute Engineering in Orem. Despite the pandemic, they both wanted to still have somewhat of a social life-- and a dating life! They downloaded the LDS dating app, Mutual, and started swiping away! Aside from his insanely attractive looks, Katherine noticed on Grant's profile that had served a mission in Mexico City West! She served in Mexico City South, so she figured they would have at least one thing in common. She decided to swipe up... and what do you know? It was a match! Katherine and Grant went on their first date to Rock Canyon to look at the stars and see if they could spot the comet, Neowise, that only comes around every 6,800 years. She was a little nervous to go out in the mountains with a stranger, so she made sure to pack some pepper spray. Luckily, she didn't have to use it ;) Conversation flowed as they took turns looking through the binoculars and pointing out different constellations and planets. When it finally got dark enough, they could see Neowise burning brightly on the starry horizon. They knew this was something special, and spent every day together for the next two weeks! On a hot night in late July, they were once again under a starry sky, slow dancing to Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" when they decided to make things official! Since then, they've been inseparable. When Grant asked Katherine to marry him in December, she said yes! They have taken many adventures together all over Utah, Tennessee, Idaho, and Washington. After the wedding, they will start their life together in sunny St. George, Utah. Kat and Grant love hiking, camping, competing in triathlons, watching movies, and planning trips. They are eternally grateful to God, their families, and friends for their love and support.
