It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for... WE’RE GETTING MARRIED! It had an unlikely start. It began with an actual accidentally snapchat in November of 2017, followed by an “accidental” snapchat, followed by our first date, which was a viewing of Thor: Ragnorak. We haven’t spent a night apart since. We’ve seen all the Marvel movies countless times. It never gets old, so it made sense for us to go with a Marvel theme! You’ve seen us through our hard times and our greatest moments. You were there for Jonathan when he welcomed his first daughter, Keeley, you were there for us when we brought our daughter, Arya, into the world. Now, we want you to join us as we take this next step in our lives! Explore the website for our registry, FAQs, the schedule, and check back often all of the latest details. We can’t wait for you to be there!
About a month before he asked, we were visiting my parents. He somehow managed to sneak off with my dad to ask for his blessing. His birthday was on the 6th, but because it was in a Thursday this year, we decided to go out the following day. We had gone to McNellie’s Pub downtown the year before so it become something of a tradition that we wanted to continue. What I didn’t know that day was that he had told our closest friends what he was about to do and had bought the ring that day, so I wouldn’t notice the change in our bank balance (I’m sort of the household accountant so I tend to watch our money like a hawk.) So we go on to celebrate his big 3-0, enjoy a night of games, drinks, and music. As things started to die down, he gathered all of our friends together, told them how much they meant to him and how much he appreciated everyone coming out. He turned to me and said my name. I began to think, “Is he drunk and getting sappy already?” NOPE! As he got down on one knee, I was in disbelief. I started thinking to myself “There’s no way he’s about to do what I think he’s about to do.” Well, he did the thing! He pulled out that box, showed that beautiful ring, and asked me to marry him. My first words were “Are you serious?” Of course, I said yes! And I bawled like a baby. He sucks at surprises (so do I), but he managed to pull the greatest surprise ever. So now we’re engaged! And when we go back to McNellie’s for his birthday next year, I’ll be his wife, and my mind will go back to the wonderful memory of being proposed to in a bar. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
