After meeting at a party during Kel’s first week of college, Kel & Will started to get to know each other through the ISU quidditch team. To break the ice, Kel messaged Will in September 2017 asking for song & band recommendations. In the early days of their relationship, they spent countless hours going through each other’s favorite music and talking through how they connected to each artist. Throughout college, they started going to more concerts, Will attempted to teach Kel how to play the bass, and their music taste grew together. Eventually, Kel even got Will to go out dancing with her. Amongst the forest and wildflowers, Will proposed in April 2024 at Kel’s favorite place, Camp Ondessonk. We promised to spend the rest of our lives sharing the things that make us happy. We’ve grown to enjoy each other’s passions such as the great outdoors, exploring Chicago, and attending baseball games. Over our long relationship, the shared interests have only intensified. Our affection for stories and an adventurous spirit have opened the door to so much more. We cannot wait to see where the road beyond takes us as a married couple. All this to say, in the last 7 years, those who know us best know we have never been subtle about sharing our passion for life’s joys. Our love of music brought us together and we’ve enjoyed many shows and a few festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza throughout our relationship, so we want to celebrate that connection. But spending time with you, our friends & family, is our favorite pastime. Whether we have shared a show, campfire, Cubs game, or simply laughed across the table with you, we hope to make a new favorite memory come September 2025.
