We officially met at Bell in Hand, a bar in Boston, thanks to mutual friends and a little bit of good timing. Although we were both enjoying the night, something clicked — even if the details are a little fuzzy. What’s funny is that we actually crossed paths a whole year earlier, when Elena visited Matt’s apartment with friends. Matt remembers it clearly. Elena? Not so much. Our first real memories together were built in the months that followed — Boston date nights, beach trips with friends, and lots of laughter in between. We slowly and naturally became each other’s favorite person. A few years later, we took a trip to Iceland, rented a car, and spent days exploring the country together — waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs, and way too many gas station hot dogs. At the end of the trip, Matt proposed at a quiet lighthouse. It was simple, personal, and perfect. We’ve built a life that’s full of joy, love, and two cats we never saw coming (especially since neither of us thought we were “cat people”). Elena’s roots are in North Carolina, Matt’s in New England — and now our home is wherever we’re together.
