Oscar has taken me here a couple of times! It's really romanic after sunset and fun to explore the grounds or simply observer the city's skyline. It's an active observatory, the last time we went there were dozens of people out on the grass with telescopes observing the stars! Take a Lyft there parking is a nightmare especially if there is a concert at The Greek Theatre so plan accordingly.
Oscar took me here as a staycation Christmas gift. It's a great place to show off your sophistication, all the while getting lost in tons of great exhibits.
I took a sick day this year to have a longer weekend for my 30th birthday. Oscar drove me up to LA to take me out on a day hike. I didn't think anything of it--just a typical hike in the hills. It was until we were parked and on our way up the trailhead when we were approached by a group of tourists asking, "Is this the way to the sign?" did I realize that Oscar was talking me up to see the Hollywood sign! Start this hike early in the day. Like most Southern California hikes there is little to no shade throughout the duration of the hike. It's a moderate hike so pack lots of water and sunscreen (it maybe "winter" but the sun still shines here) and have fun taking pictures!
This is a really cute neighborhood. Whether you are looking to kill some time, find a place to eat, or just go shopping, this is the place! Only a few minutes drive from the house, and it's nice because there is a parking garage as well as (limited) street parking. it is a perfect place to spend a few hours. Not to mention, on Sunday, they have a farmers market!
This is a cool city to check out when you come to town. A really awesome pier/boardwalk, it's close to Venice Beach, and plenty of great restaurants.
