...of the contiguous United States. Katrina was on a solo motorcycle journey from Illinois to California, by way of the Olympic Peninsula. Noah was healing after foot surgery in Port Angeles, Washington—making art, working in education, and living on a cliff overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. They met at a dinner hosted by a mutual friend, at Port Angeles' Jasmine Bistro, which is still the best Thai food they've ever had. Shortly thereafter Katrina left town and Noah went back to his life, but periodically he would message her with a holiday greeting or a photo of the progress he was making on rebuilding a 1978 Honda motorcycle. One day the messages became more frequent. Not long after, Katrina and Noah were flying back and forth between Washington and Illinois, bonding over oysters and Chicago-style pizza. They made two cross-country moves; she finished a doctorate; he embarked on a Master's degree; they both started new jobs; they bought a house; and they got engaged on April 2nd, 2019, minutes after the end of April Fool's day (just so there was no mistaking things). Along with the rest of our family—Cain and Enzo, Klaus and Maus—we invite you to celebrate our next adventure!
