Dating app swipers unite! Katie tried to write Pete off as a PenPal before the first date. Pete, a man of two cities – Boston and Providence, was impressed by her “straight to the point” nature and convinced Katie that Providence is not that far away and she should give him her number. For a guy who loves the game of Poker, Pete showed his hand on the first date! Over beer, vodka on the rocks (if you know Katie, you know), and (cheese)burgers, Pete revealed that “if this works” we would end up in RI and that he is “New England Kosher.” Again, true to Katie’s blunt character, she told him a Rabbi would never approve of “New England Kosher” it is not a thing…but sure, Rhode Island could work.
2020 was not all that bad!! What Katie thought to be a COVID test and impromptu night in Newport ended up being one of the happiest days of our lives! A Cliff Walk stroll before sunset was the ideal landscape for the sweetest words and promises made. Pete got down on one knee (not to tie his shoe this time!) and proposed to Katie at the bottom of the 40 Steps.
