Our relationship began when we met at work (AGC) on Katie's first day, May 1st, 2018. Initially we were just office acquaintances until our mutual love of trivia created the first opportunity to hang out after work. After a couple of months of playing trivia, we started spending more time together. Then our obsession with online streaming and binge watching Game of Thrones allowed our love to blossom. We began dating in February 2019, the day we left for a trip to Houghton to visit with Katie's friends. Before too long we were inseparable and spent all of our time together. When Katie's apartment lease was ending in summer of 2019, we decided to move in together and create our blended cat family. Shortly after moving in, we discovered John had a back injury and Katie took care of him before and after his surgery. During the pandemic, we have only gotten closer between the countless renovations and the adoption of sweet Mackenzie, our 2-year old puppy! In October 2020, we took a long weekend attempting to catch the colors in the UP and Houghton. During this trip, we were able to relax, recuperate, and have some time to talk about our future. Little did Katie know, John had some big big plans. On our last full day of exploring, John took a special moment alone to ask the question..."Will you marry me?". We spent the rest of the day sharing the news with those we love and celebrating at our favorite places in Houghton. Once we got home and the shock wore off, the wedding planning started in full force. We cannot wait to spend a winter vacation with everyone in Mexico this year... AND TO GET MARRIED!
