We both headed to Tavern on Broad, headquarters for the FSU alumni club in Philadelphia. If any of you have been there, it's not the type of place you would expect to find your husband or wife. Katie brought her dad, since she didn't want to come to her first game-watching party alone. Daina was there with our soon-to-be squad sharing laughs, beers, and subtle tears of defeat. We met that first watch party and hit it off based on our unwavering love for a sub-par FSU football team. Eventually our friendship turned into a deeper connection, and the rest is history.
After visiting family in CO and learning how to ski, we flew to Park City, UT for a weekend together to end our trip. Shortly after touching down we trekked up a nearby mountain for a private starlit snowshoe tour of Park City. Following our trusty guide, we made it to the top of the mountain without any run-ins with moose. Katie was taking in the moonlit views of the city when she turned around to Daina kneeling in the snow with a pretty diamond ring in his hands. The easiest question ever - and Katie, of course, said "Yes"! We slid back down the mountain giddy and engaged.
