Wedding Party

Your "who's who" guide to the wedding party.

Lyndsey Mackay

Maid of Honor

Lyndsey is performing the role of Maid of Honor at the wedding, which she's studying for by reading Martha Stewart, perusing Pinterest & watching Hollywood films. Although she lives 3,277 miles away, Lyndsey is keen to help plan the celebrations. Stylish outfits, fab shoes, good music, & a tasty cake are a must. She hopes to bring laughter & funky moves to the day’s events. When not working as a trainee solicitor, Lyndsey takes part in football hooliganism by supporting Hibernian FC; a love shared with Kathleen after they saw Hibs win the Scottish Cup in May 2016. Lyndsey also enjoys organization, a night out, & the color purple. She recently rediscovered her love of tap dancing & found a new interest in skiing. If given the chance, Lyndsey will always cuddle a dog. Be like Lyndsey.

Amy Hoffman

Bridesmaid

This is sweet baby sister of the Hoffman clan and the youngest member of the wedding party. Regularly she can be found working on research projects, taking/assisting with dance lessons, studying for honors classes, & going on adventures with her scout troop. If you can find her in her spare time, she creates amazing artwork (the couple still has a Spartan drawing Will received one Christmas on their fridge). She and the bride shared a room for the latter half of the bride's years in East Brunswick and throughout college; they have had many late night discussions about how cute the groom is.

Jennifer Hoffman

Bridesmaid

Hi, I'm Jennifer, Kathleen's younger sister (though only by 22 1/2 months), often referred to as "Mom's Favorite". I'm studying Math & Education at Rutgers & am currently enrolled in their Masters program. I'm an avid reader & I still help run the Girl Scout troop I started for my Silver Award. In summer, I also work as a program manager at the Girl Scout Camp where the wedding is being held. Kathleen & I have always had very strong opinions on things & haven't been shy about letting our feelings show. This often proved interesting in the years that we shared a room. Though it was touch and go for a time, my parents did survive it. As Kathleen's previous roommate, I have a lot of sympathy for Will. I wish the Bride & Groom years of love, laughter & luck (Will's going to need it).

Deepti Ravi

Bridesmaid/Officiant

Deepti Ravi (24yo) is Kathleen’s childhood friend from East Brunswick. After meeting in 1st grade in 2001, they became close through Girl Scouts, where Kathleen, Deepti, Lyndsey, & Jenny were part of Troop 797's adventures. Deepti met Will later, through mutual friends in junior high, so she was happy for both her friends when they started dating a few years later. Kathleen & Deepti kept contact through college, where Deepti oversaw a 6-year-long experiment to see what she could do slower: respond to Kathleen’s letters or graduate college. Spoiler alert: it was the latter, so she is so glad to finally be a graduate of Rutgers University with double majors in math & political science & a minor in computer science. She loves weddings & is looking forward to great things for the two of them.

Faline Villapando McGovern

Bridesmaid

Faline (Villapando) McGovern (26yo) is one of Will’s older sisters. She’s known Will since before he dropped the “-iam” from his name & Kathleen since 2013, when the happy couple first started dating in their senior year of high school. Though she was already at Rutgers University when Will & Kathleen’s romance officially began, she is forever grateful to have gotten to know Kathleen over these past 6 years. She's had the pleasure of witnessing their relationship withstand hundreds of miles over years of time, & couldn’t be more ecstatic to welcome a new in-law into the family. Faline & her husband John currently live/work in the Harrisburg/Hershey area of central PA, with a cat that Kathleen is allergic to but tolerates & that Will refuses to call by her given name.

Eric Mulvihill

Best Man

Will and Eric have been friends since the first grade. Since they lived just a few blocks away, they spent a lot of time together walking, playing videogames, and occasionally going on trips like camping. Outside from work as a Diesel Mechanic, he enjoys a wide variety of music, classic cars, and DIY projects.

Ryan Hoffman

Groomsman

When Will first started dating Kathleen, he met Ryan. Ryan is Kathleen’s younger brother. The two have known each other for however long Kathleen and Will have been together. Will has memories of little Ryan/Amy attacking them in the car. Ryan would usually scream, “NO PDA”. He is in marching band, Boy Scouts, and recently graduated from EBHS. Ryan enjoys videogames and movies. He is funny and really tall. Ryan likes to mess with Will in a joking way. Will thinks Ryan likes him? Maybe? Who knows.

DJ Mooney

Groomsman

Will met/worked with DJ for many years at Macy’s back in EB. Will’s favorite memory with DJ is when they saved a lost kitten in receiving. Over the years, Will has enjoyed chilling with DJ in the office, truck days, going out for drinks (the few times people convinced Will to go out), going to Yestercades, and fun double dates (bowling/lastertag). DJ recently transferred from EB to the Menlo Park Macy’s as the Team Lead. His interests include anime (Attack on Titan, Miyazaki/Princess Mononoke, My Hero Academia), Cats (Sawyer! Soy-Sauce!), and videogames (SMASH, character of choice Lucas).

Domenic Recchione

Groomsman

Will met Domenic in his Freshman year at Rutgers. Will had seen Domenic around campus. One morning before their creative writing class started, Will approached Domenic and talked to him about anime or something. The two became friends after and would hang out for the rest of Will’s time at Rutgers as they completed classes together towards the Creative Writing certificate with Svitch, Meng, and of course Randy. Domenic is currently in graduate school going for his masters in Social Work. He works on creative writing for NaNoWriMo, plays D&D, and enjoys TV shows like Twin Peaks & X-Files. Be sure to ask him about The Wire.

Thomson Thomas

Groomsman

Will met Thomson in Mr. Eitner’s 8th grade history class back in Churchill Junior High. Will was wearing a “Blarg” shirt from the popular web series Red vs Blue. Not as many people knew about it at the time, so it stood out to Thomson. The two became friends shortly after and continued being friends up to now. Will & Thomson enjoy discussing RvB and DC Animated series (Batman Animted, JL, etc), playing videogames, and just hanging out. Thomson currently works at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and recently finished studying Web Development.

Kathleen Hoffman

Bride

Kathleen is the eldest sister of the Hoffman clan & the first in her immediate family to get married. While she & Will met in high school in East Brunswick, NJ, she went off to Nashville to study Audio Engineering. Turns out that didn't go so well, so she switched her major to Music Business. Then, to ensure she'd find a job, she double majored in Accounting. After school, Will moved down to Nashville & they've gone on all sorts of adventures and have attended many many concerts (thanks songwriters). On weekdays, she works as an accountant at a music publisher, but by night she likes to craft; she's made several baby hats and booties for friends/coworkers who were expecting. Some of her other hobbies includes reading, exploring new places, cooking/baking & listening to podcasts.
