This place is a must visit for beer lovers! It is located on Asheville's "South Slope" which is the most popular downtown area to visit. There are other surrounding breweries (Catawba Brewing and Twin Leaf Brewing) and distilleries (Chemist Gin) that offer tours for those who would like to learn about the beer or liquor making process.
I discovered this place when I just moved to Asheville and it is by far one of my favorite places to visit. Lexington glassworks is ran by 3 gentleman who specialize in making handblown glass light fixtures, jewelry, and other unique items. Not only can you shop around and see beautiful handmade work, but they also invite those in to see the process first hand. They will actually make a piece right in front of you about every hour, and have a bar inside to grab a craft beer while you watch! It is within walking distance from other popular restaurants and breweries in the area
For art lovers! Blue Spiral is Asheville's original fine art gallery and showcases many of the established artists in the Asheville area, as well as the entire state of NC. It is a beautiful place to visit and see some of the blossoming artistic talent Asheville has to offer.
As many people know, Asheville offers a tremendous amount of beautiful hiking and outdoor adventure. While there are many hikes I recommend, everyone differs in difficulty preference, so I would reccomend downloading the app "All Trails" to find the hike that best suits you. Alltrails offers exact maps/directions to the trailhead, maps of the trail, level of difficulty, etc. so it is much easier to find than using Google Maps (trust me, Google Maps is a headache when trying to find hiking). Some hikes I've enjoyed is the Mt. Mitchell Winter Star hike (not recommended for those with little experience, but for those who like a good challenge!), Graveyard fields, and Lookout Mountain in Montreat.
