Kathleen's Side of the Story We met in the ICU. I was a new nurse on orientation. He introduced himself and we shook hands. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I remember on my first day off of orientation, we were both in Surgical ICU and I thought he was very helpful and so smart. That's one of the many things I admire about him - he is so smart, witty, knowledgeable and is such a smart ass. We started hanging out and going to the gym together. With more time spent with each other, we realized we had a lot in common and became really close. We both love food, traveling, and snowboarding. Before I knew it, I was in love with my best friend. Earvin's Side of the Story Actually, we first met a CSU Bakersfield (years before we met AGAIN at work). I worked at the Student Recreation Center back in my university days. I would set up badminton and volleyball nets for Kathleen and her friends, even though they would only play for 30 minutes and then leave. Those badminton nets are heavy and are stored all the way across the gym so I had to carry them back and forth each time. We started getting to know each other after working together in the ICU. We started hanging out, watching Game of Thrones (she cried on the Red Wedding and Hodor's episode), and going to the gym together. We went on a few dates, and I learned she loves food and traveling just as much as I do. We became each other's food and travel buddies, and the rest is history.
