From the 101, take the exit to the 58 toward Santa Margarita. You'll drive through the small town of Santa Margarita, and then the road will T. Turn right to stay on the 58. Continue straight on 58/W. Pozo Road for approximately 4.5 miles. Look for the Riata Ranch gate with balloons on the left hand side and follow signs to the venue!
The wedding is in the small town of Santa Margarita, just north of San Luis Obispo. We have a wedding block at La Quinta Inn on the north end of SLO, which is closest to the venue. This hotel has a great restaurant/bar right next door. Due to it being a holiday weekend, a minimum 2 night stay is required. The Kinney hotel across the street from La Quinta Inn is another great option, and offers special rates like AAA, senior, and military discounts. The Quality Suites is a more affordable option in the same area of town. The Apple Farm Inn and restaurant is also on the north end of SLO. There are many other wonderful hotels in downtown SLO to choose from. Our additional recommendations are Hotel San Luis Obispo, Hotel Cerro, and Granada Hotel. It is about a 20 minute drive from the venue to SLO, so please drink responsibly!
It gets HOT in Santa Margarita! Please feel free to dress up, down, and all around, as long as you can stay cool. We have no problem with some dress shorts and short sleeve shirts, as long as you’re comfortable! It does cool off in the evenings, so consider a layer to throw on. The venue is outdoors on grass, so flat shoes are recommended.
Yes! There is plenty of parking so bring a car with a designated driver! Uber and Lyft will also drive out to the ranch. If you do choose to use Uber or Lyft to get to the venue, make sure to talk to your driver about needing a ride after the wedding as well. Central Coast Taxi is also an option: https://www.centralcoasttaxi.com
We love kids. We love your kids. But this wedding is an opportunity to have some fun without your kids! Our own two kids and two nephews will represent your children for the day, so feel free to squeeze them and love them if you’re feeling childsick. We can’t wait to see you wild and free.
The ranch will open to guests at 3:30pm. We’ll have champagne and water available if you want to come mingle and and enjoy the venue before the ceremony at 4:30.
The ceremony and reception will both take place at Riata Ranch, so once you arrive, that’s where you’ll stay!
Music will end at 10:30pm and the ranch must be vacated by 11:00pm. Plenty of time to party.
Yes! While we honor, cherish, and respect Dan’s sobriety, we will also provide alcoholic drinks for those who choose to indulge :)
