Andrew and I first met when he moved to Juneau in 2013, but didn't become friends until several years later. During the summer of 2016 our church spent an afternoon at Echo Ranch Bible Camp. Andrew walked passed the table I was sitting at and loudly asked if anyone would like to go on an adventure. I joined. After that we became close friends through game nights, camping trips, and late night adventures. By October we were officially dating. On March 2, 2017 Andrew picked me up for a night of sledding. For several weeks prior he had been telling me that his car was not working properly and on this particular night it was really acting up. He pulled over, popped the hood, and began checking things out. After a while he asked me for some help. When I got out of the car it was snowing and there were candles everywhere. He was down on one knee in the same spot where we had gone stargazing for our first date. I am a hard person to surprise, and although I knew Andrew had a ring, he had me convinced he would be proposing much later in the year. I was so shocked that my instincts kicked in and I pushed him over. After the initial surprise wore off Andrew proceeded to ask me to marry him and I, of course, said yes! Our love story continues on June 23, 2018 in Spokane, Washington. We cannot wait to share in this special day with all of you! By the way, his car was fine and had not actually been acting up for several weeks. It was all part of the plan.
