Jim and Kara met at the post-engagement celebration for Jim's sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kate and Jason Grimes. After Jason's elaborately-staged dinner proposal that night, friends of the Grimeses gathered at Mulligan's Bar in Downtown Harrisburg. Luckily for Jim, Mary Kate's friend Betsy Hass brought another friend to the party that night - Kara. After introducing himself and offering to buy Kara a round of drinks - an order Jim describes as the most important purchase of his life - they hit it off that night, and quickly reconnected over the following few days to spend time together. After a few dates, Jim made it official at one of their favorite Happy Hour haunts in Midtown Harrisburg, Rubicon. Over the last four years we have grown tremendously with the love and support of our family and friends. Jim took on the role of Cat Dad to Kara's sweet Thomas. Kara became a Philadelphia sports fan (with the exception of her Baltimore Orioles). Over four wonderful years, we've traveled, made so many new friends, and became members of each other's families. And almost four years to the date, Jim asked Kara to be his wife, in that same exact booth at Rubicon.
