Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

The official RSVP is linked in the announcement banner at the top of the page and here: https://forms.gle/AbKzpQhUWadFYjUHA

Question

How should I prepare?

Answer

-We ask that everyone be up to date on their vaccinations (notably covid boosters and flu vaccines) because immunocompromised loved ones will be in attendance and we want everyone to stay healthy. -Please wear N95 masks during any crowded travel/flights to attend these celebrations. -If you are ill or unvaccinated, please take a covid test beforehand. -Masks will be available. Masking indoors is recommended for anyone unvaccinated and required for anyone symptomatic or unvaccinated and unwilling to test. -If you are unable or unwilling to take these precautions, please join our zoom celebration. We look forward to celebrating with you all!

Question

What should I know?

Answer

-These are inclusive, queer spaces for joy and coming together of our communities. We ask that you respect and welcome everyone’s pronouns, partners, and gender expression. -These are non-religious events, so please refrain from religious rhetoric in speeches/toasts. -Wedding traditions are full of gendered social practices, and we have worked to remove that from our experience, so please avoid comments/jokes/advice rooted in gendered stereotypes. Thank you all for being part of our beautiful community.

Question

How can I help?

Answer

Carpooling and/or collaborating to shuttle people from parking to venue is appreciated! We have arranged parking within walking distance of each event, but it is not enough for every individual to drive themselves, and in the heat, it will be nice for more people to get rides up to the driveway. See below for links to facilitate guests sharing rides.

Question

Connecting with guests about lodging/carpool:

Answer

Here is a spreadsheet for each event, where you can list your name, contact info, and travel plans to connect with other guests and coordinate accommodations/transpportation. Chico CA: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10J7QTmbY4n-d6WtaB_8M-8xmOn7iC4vKyY0EdsO6kBI/edit?usp=drivesdk Hadley MA: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BVfos4OAMI2APJcbUfWvfaWuLrJz7gsJlyKx7S_wg5Y/edit?usp=drivesdk

Question

Guidelines for sharing a toast/speech/performance:

Answer

-No one is expected/required to speak, but in the official rsvp you can request time to speak. -Plan for 2-5 minutes per person, or reach out about logistics. -Let us know as soon as possible if you have space/equipment requests. -Please avoid religious and/or gendered topics. Thank you for sharing part of yourself with us for this celebration.

Question

Want more guidance for attire?

Answer

We just want everyone to be comfortable in the heat and have fun with the fae/fairy vibes. Think florals and light, flowing fabrics. Aim anywhere from Bilbo’s birthday party to Lothlorien. Feel free to go as casual as Hawaiian shirts or as elaborate as elven cosplay. There will be some accessories/adornments available, like butterflies/flowers/tattoos for everyone to play with, regardless of gender. Flat, comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged; the ground outdoors can be uneven or soft, so wear heels at your own risk and bring back-up flats if you do.

Question

What if I want to give a more tangible gift than the registry requests?

Answer

We have not landed in a long-term home yet, and we have very specific practical and sensory requirements for the items we bring into our space, so we prefer to pick out items for ourselves when we have the time to research options thoroughly. However, we don’t want to restrict how you express your love and support, so if it is important to you to give a physical gift, please either keep it small for travel or mail it to us: 10 Lawnfair St. #3 Worcester MA 01602 Here is a spreadsheet with a few things you can order, a few you can thrift (we prefer things second-hand, as long as they are easy to clean), and more items with which you can associate a monetary gift, allowing us to select the best option for ourselves when we are ready. Please indicate if/when you choose a gift from the list by putting in your name or “this item has been gifted,” so we don’t get duplicates. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-ZlUwdhFi8uCFuJypbHZ0anO0--Uhbu6NtfgF9-MR_E/edit?usp=drivesdk You can also consider consumables, preferably shelf-stable, like a local jam from your home town (we love raspberry preserves) or a spice blend that you really like. Feel free to consult us if you have something specific in mind. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Question

How do I access the zoom link to join remotely?

Answer

For CA: https://wpi.zoom.us/j/98260317181 We plan to have the call open throughout the event, and check-in around 4:30, 6pm, and 8pm. Thanks for being part of our celebrations!
