Rocky Mountain National Park
The closest entrance gate to the RMNP is only 2.5 miles away from Fall River Village. Check out our Travel tab to learn more about the free shuttle that will take you from downtown Estes Park to RMNP. Otherwise there is a car entrance fee (in addition to the 'per person' park fee). We recommend the free app AllTrails to find a hike or activity (SO much more than hiking) that suits your desired views (lakes, vistas, meadows), difficulty level and distance.
Estes Park Aerial Tramway
Minutes from Fall River Village. If hiking ins't your thing but you still want to catch views from the top, here's a $14 solution. We recommend going early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid crowds and wind. Rock Cut Brewing is steps away from the base of the Tram.
The Stanley Hotel
The infamously haunted hotel that inspired Stephen King's novel "The Shining". For those not as enthusiastic of the horror genre - Dumb & Dumber was also filmed here ("a place where the beer flows like wine"). We went on a tour here in October 2017 when Pat's sister Jenna and aunt Sarah came to visit. We all loved the tour.
Coffee on the Rocks
A quaint coffee shop and simple breakfast stop that is a five minute drive from Fall River Village. Has a nice patio overlooking a pond with a little trail around it.
Rock Cut Brewing Company
Games, good music, good beer. Grab a beer here either before or after (or both!) you ride the Aerial Tram - Rock Cut is located right at the base of it.
