Our wedding is in a suburb of KC. If you are planning on taking an extended trip we recommend you stay in the Crossroads or downtown KCMO. There are lots of great Airbnbs as well as hotels such as the ones listed below.
Additionally, KC is not walkable nor does it have good public transport so we highly suggest renting a car.
