Long story short, we met at a party. It was after our freshman year in college and some high school friends wanted to get together and hang out because we were all back from college. I was debating on what to wear and decided to just wear a cute white tank top and some shorts (this is important later in the story). I remember when I first saw Josh because I was playing a game with some friends and he comes barreling in wearing swim trunks and greeting everyone and I didn't know who he was. Then, our mutual friend, Josh Weot grabbed us both in a head lock and introduced us. Later on, someone put ESPN on and they had softball on. Naturally, I went and sat down and started watching the game. Josh eventually came and sat down to watch too because Michigan softball was playing. Josh eventually turned to me and said "this is awkward, one of us should change" as he is looking down at our matching white tank tops. I burst out laughing. We talked the rest of the night about so many different things. I remember going home and telling my mom about him because all we did that night was talk and it was so easy to talk to him. I also told my mom that he didn't even ask for my number when we left which made him stick in my mind that much more. A few weeks later my mom and I went to one of my friend’s graduation parties and on the way home we stopped by Dicks Sporting Goods. When we got inside the store I heard someone calling my name. It was Josh, he worked there. He walked around the store with us and helped my mom find everything she needed. We started to hang out that summer and I must say, I was reluctant to label our relationship due to a variety of things, including distance. Needless to say, Josh was persistent and I am so grateful that he was. He became my cheering section in college, my best friend, and the love of my life.
On the night I met Tyler the only thing I was initially worried about was whether anyone else would be wearing their themed outfits for that night’s party. Unfortunately for me only three people were wearing their outfits, so I decided to go back out to my truck to change into my work clothes. Before I could make it to the door our mutual friend Josh Weot grabbed me in a headlock and pulled me over towards Tyler. Once he reached Tyler, he shouted "girl best friend meet my guy best friend Mojo." I was caught off guard, so I didn't know what to say other than hey. I shrugged off Weot and headed out to my car to change into my work pants and a white tank top (classy, I know). I walked back into the party and saw Tyler sitting on the couch watching ESPN (I was immediately falling for her). As the party went on, I noticed that Tyler was still sitting on the couch trying to nice turn down one of my friends who was trying to flirt. I walked over to her mustered up some courage and tried to say something funny so thankfully for me we were both wearing white tank tops, so I said, "this is awkward, one of us is going to have to go change." Thankfully she laughed. We then proceeded to sit and talk for the next three hours, and it felt like I was talking to someone I had known for all my life. The longer we talked the more I began to fall for her. At the end of the night as the party was winding down, we both walked out at the same time, I was enjoying our conversation so much I did not think to ask for her number. I did not realize that I had forgotten to ask for her number until I had gotten home. I must have been blessed with good luck that summer because a week later I saw her while I was working at work and had a second chance to ask for her number. I then spent the rest of the summer falling in love with her a little more every single day. Seven years later I am happy to say we continue to fall more in love each day.
We got engaged on the Chattanooga walking bridge on New Year’s Eve. It was freezing outside. We were going to a new year’s party with a bunch of our friends. Before we went into the party, someone suggested that we go and take pictures on the walking bridge. We all went, and everyone was getting pictures together. Then it was mine and Josh's turn. We were taking pictures and I could see out of the corner of my eye that josh was trying to back out of my view. Eventually, he caught me at a time that I was talking to my friend standing behind me. He quickly tried to pull out the box. However, the box was huge so before he could it out, I turned around and figured out what he was about to do. It was a magical night and one that neither of us will ever forget!
