What is Joe's last name?

Answer

Hodal. We'll soon be Mr. & Mrs. Hodal. Sonia is keeping her maiden name for professional purposes because Judge Antolec has a nice ring to it.

Where do y'all live?

Answer

Sonia and Zach moved in with Joe in Chicago. We are buying our starter home mid-June, in Brookfield, IL.

Where are they from?

Answer

Sonia was born and raised in Pilsen, Chicago. She moved to Northwest Indiana for a bit with Zach once he was starting college at IU. Joe is from the suburbs of Chicago. He moved into the city when he was starting law school and has been there ever since.

What does Joe do?

Answer

Joe is a lawyer too! He works for the Cook County State's Attorneys Office in the Civil Actions Bureau. Joe and Sonia met because they were both working as Assistant State's Attorneys for Cook County when they attended a fellow ASA's wedding in 2013.

I thought the wedding was capped at 50 guests because of COVID?

Answer

No more capacity restrictions! Our reception hall is small, but it has a mix of indoor and outdoor space.

What if I can't make it to the wedding at Holy Family Church?

Answer

Come crash our reception! Anyone who can't make it to the ceremony is welcome to crash the reception any time after 6:00pm. Make sure you're there by 7:00 pm for the first dance as husband and wife.

Can we bring our little ones?

Answer

Joe has 21 nieces and nephews. Sonia has 6 nieces. With 27 nieces and nephews in our family, we'll have plenty of children running and playing to go around. Flying in from out of town? Yes, bring the fam-just let us know so we can get plenty of chicken tenders. Are you from around town? Get a sitter and please come and enjoy an adult night out.
