FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

What’s important to us is your presence, not what you wear. Our venue is elegant & rustic so anything from casual, western wear, to evening wear is appropriate. December in Houston can be chilly so bring a light jacket if you get cold. The reception is in doors but there is a heated patio outside as well.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes, we love kids but they must be supervised at all times (venue rules). No childcare will be provided onsite.

Question

The State of Texas allows underage drinking in the presence of a parent. Will that be allowed?

Answer

NO. Although allowed under state law, Venue 311 and the bartending company prohibits underage drinking. Anyone providing alcohol to minors will be asked to leave and subject to fine by law enforcement.

Question

Do I need to bring cash? If so, can I get cash at the venue?

Answer

Cash is not necessary but our bartenders and DJ appreciate tips for excellent service, and we’re planning on a cash dance with the bride & groom. Unfortunately, the venue does not have an ATM onsite.

Question

Will there be options for dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies and we will alert our catering company to see what can be done to accommodate/label items. No promises but we will try to select dietary friendly options.

Question

We RSVP’d but our plans have changed. Can we edit our RSVP.

Answer

We’re sad you can’t make it but we understand life happens and plans change. Please send an email to rlschelling@gmail.com with RSVP updates or call/text mom at 307-679-6649. We appreciate prompt updates as our catering and bar need final counts before the event.

Question

Will transportation be provided to/from the venue?

Answer

To avoid unnecessary expenses we have not pre-arranged transportation; however, if enough attendees can commit to use a charter we are happy to arrange it. As mentioned in the transportation section, UBER/Lyft might be a good option to get to the venue but because of the remote venue location they are less likely to be available from the venue.

Question

Can we bring our own food/alcohol to the venue?

Answer

NO. Venue 311 prohibits the consumption of alcohol on premises not served and provided by the bar. Outside food is also not allowed unless dietary restrictions or allergies cannot be accommodated. Please email rlschelling@gmail.com for questions or accommodation requests.

Question

Can I leave my car at the venue if I’ve had too much to drink?

Answer

NO. Venue 311 requires all persons and vehicles to be off the premises by midnight. We ask that if you plan on drinking, you plan transportation accordingly and keep in mind that alcohol is being served to help celebrate our special day. Persons drinking in excess will be kindly asked to leave.

Question

The ceremony starts at 4:00 pm, what time should we arrive?

Answer

Doors to the chapel will be closed at 4:00 pm. Guests can arrive as early as 2:00 pm but plan on arriving between 3:00-3:45.

Question

I have a song I want to dedicate for the couple, does the DJ take requests?

Answer

Absolutely. DJ Max will have a request process in place. He will do his best to accommodate all requests.

Question

Does the venue have high chairs or booster seats?

Answer

Yes, the venue does have high chairs and booster seats. Please note your request on the RSVP to ensure adequate supply.

Question

Are we allowed to take video and photos?

Answer

The ceremony will be "unplugged" to allow our professional video/photographers the opportunity to capture the moments. You are welcome to take photos/videos during the reception but please share them with us. We will publish professional video/photos after the wedding so you can just be present and enjoy your time.

Question

What type of alcohol will be served?

Answer

Our signature drink will be a Margarita. We will also have beer, wine and a few select liquors.

Question

Is food being served?

Answer

Yes, a Queso fountain and fruit will be served during the cocktail hour and a buffet of street taco's catered from Taste of Mexico will be served.

Question

Are there pre-post wedding events scheduled?

Answer

Nothing formal at this point. Any updates will be provided before the wedding.

Question

What COVID restrictions are in place?

Answer

Texas is wide open, so masks are not required but businesses have the right to mandate masks for entry. Having said that, we are not requiring guests to be vaccinated or wear masks. Guests are welcome to wear masks if they choose to. Tables will be spaced to allow some distancing. A limited number of masks will be available as well as sanitizer.

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

We have lived together for several years and have limited space in our apartment. Since having Brooklyn, we have not had the time or money to travel or spend much alone time together. With that, we did not make a registry. While your attendance is gift enough for us, if you would like to gift we have established a honeymoon fund to allow us a few days alone. Please visit the registry page or cash can be donated using the apps below. Venmo: @shelbieandjohnathanwedding Apple Pay: 970-250-6956 Zelle: 970-250-6956 or shelbiekaye29@gmail.com

Question

Where is the best place to stay?

Answer

The venue is between Navasota and Montgomery, TX. There are a variety of hotel options including in Brenham, Navasota, Montgomery, Conroe, Cypress, or The Woodlands. For commute purposes, Navasota, Montgomery, or Conroe are the best options.
