Our Relationship Story

Love Stretched from the Mountains to the Midwest

Kelsey and Jordan first met at Air Force ROTC field training summer of 2021. Their paths were never meant to cross, coming from two different parts of the country. Their earliest shared memory is when they awkwardly stood across from one another during an icebreaker game. From there, they learned about each other’s backgrounds and their shared passion for Jesus Christ. The rest of field training was a blur, but they exchanged phone numbers at the end the classic pen and paper way. Late night talks, movie binges, and Minecraft game nights ensued. Soon after spending evenings together, they realized they wanted to be more than just friends. Jordan tried telling Kelsey his feelings, but she thought she was getting friend-zoned. So she cut him off and professed her feelings before he could say the same thing. Thankfully, they started dating immediately after. Their evenings were spent Facetiming for hours on end, watching shows and movies together, and just enjoying each other's company through the phone. From there, the two also committed to seeing each other every month by flying out to South Dakota or Colorado. Jordan and Kelsey have been on many adventures, and have had to be creative with long distance dating. They've met friends, family, and have continued to grow together. In addition to meeting new faces and seeing new places, they've also been on great adventures. They've become coffee shop connoisseurs, skiing experts, hiking enthusiasts, and seasoned movie-watchers. While long distance has provided some adversity, Kelsey and Jordan have focused on how they've grown in loving the other person. During this time, God has lead them in how they can grow and learn together; but most importantly, how they can build a relationship with foundations in Christ.
