It all began one fateful evening at a Chi Alpha Christian fellowship meeting as Jerrin was wrapping up his senior year at the University of Toledo in Ohio. Among the students, he met Michelle, a sophomore at the time and one of the few fellow Malayalees who, of all places, happened to be from Houston. Though we kept in touch sporadically over the years, it wasn’t until Jerrin visited Houston and invited Michelle to the now-infamous dinner at Aga’s (if you know you know) with a few friends that something deeper began to spark. As our relationship grew over the years, so did the surprising connections between our lives. We soon discovered that our dads had grown up in the same small town of Adoor in Kerala—and that Michelle’s dad had volunteered as a makeshift photographer at Jerrin’s parents' wedding in New York decades earlier. We later learned that our grandfathers had also known each other back in India, another reminder of how God had been faithfully orchestrating our steps all along. From med school to family ties, we’ve seen God’s hand faithfully weaving our stories together. We’re incredibly grateful for how He’s guided us to this moment, and it’s our prayer that our marriage will continue to reflect His love and bring Him glory in all that we do.
