For the health and safety of all our guests, we, along with our venue, will be following City protocols, whatever they may be at the time. We will continue to update and notify as new protocols develop. There will be masks available for those who need or would like one. We appreciate everyone's efforts in making this a safe gathering for all of our loving family and friends. As of March 21, the New Orleans Health Department has lifted requirements on COVID-19 proof of vaccination or proof a recent negative COVID test to enter certain establishments. Individuals are not required to wear a mask or face covering with the exception of the following: public transportation, including airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, buses, taxis, ride-shares, and the corresponding transportation hubs, as specified in Federal guidelines. Residents and visitors will no longer be required to provide proof of full vaccination or a recent negative test to enter bars, restaurants, event spaces, and other businesses previously covered under regulations. Nothing in these guidelines shall prevent private businesses from requiring vaccinations, negative tests, masks, or social distancing to conduct operations. Thus, please be sure to bring your vaccine card to New Orleans if you have it and keep it on you while out and about just in case. Alternatively, you may use a picture of your vaccine card on your phone (front and back). The City encourages all residents and visitors to get vaccinated if they have not already done so, including booster shots.
Uber and Lyft are the easiest to use to and from the airport. it should be a $30-$35 ride to the French Quarter. Getting around in the quarter should be fairly easy as most things are walkable or a quick Pedi-Cab ride away. There is not much parking in the quarter and it is expensive to park in the Monteleone. Crowne Plaza does not have a garage. If you do have a vehicle we suggest parking it in the Garden District for the weekend and uber/lyft/streetcar to it later.
We will have a streetcar bus that will do a circle pick-uping up guests from hotels and drop-off to the wedding venue. Specific times to be determined. It's not a far walk to and from, but just in case anyone doesn't want to walk, we have you covered!
One of the most popular traditions during NOLA weddings is the famous second line parade, which signifies the start of a new beginning for the bride and groom. A brass band leads the bridal party and the guests in two parts – The first line is a brass band and the ones being honored (the newlyweds). The newly married couple leads the second line holding parasols. All of the guests who want to join in the celebration make up the second line. The guests form a line behind the band, dancing with the newly married couple to lively music with handkerchiefs in hand!
