Man of Honor
My favorite memory with my sister is of my 29th birthday when she and my wife conspired to surprise me. It was during the pandemic and I hadn't seen my family in a while so Brittney flew down to Texas and surprised me at my birthday dinner. I was stunned and so happy to see her. Totally did NOT cry grown man tears.
Best Man
My favorite memory with big bro would definitely be Colorado for my birthday. We did everything we love. Nature and food and hiking. There will be a lot more to come.
Matron of Honor
There are sooo many fun memories I have with Brittney, so this was a nearly impossible task. Most recently, I had the chance to visit Brittney in DC and see her perform in a phenomenal show, Tempestuous Elements. Seeing her perform and her evolution as an actor and artist is not something I will soon forget. I saw one of Brittney’s first performances at TCU, before I even knew her and noticed how exceptionally gifted she was then. It was part of the reason we became friends, I recognized her and had to get to know that chick. Seeing her onstage almost 16 years later, I was reminded of how remarkable she is. That trip also reminded me of Brittney’s great capacity for love and her selflessness. She was grieving the loss of her father, but still showed up for everyone in her life, including her cast. I am in awe of her and I’m so thrilled for her and Javon.
Groomsman
My brother in rhyme. My favorite memory with Javon, if not the multiple poetry competitions we’ve been in, would be the surprise birthday. I was completely aloof even after I walked in on everyone in my living room. It was hilarious.
Bridesmaid
My favorite memory of Brittney was when she, Sydney, and I would dress up together for Halloween in college, specifically as the Jonas Bros, the costume choice that started it all. 😂 I'm still mad I missed the year they went as the lollipop guild. lol
Groomsman
Me, Javon (we called him J), and Tony been together since birth. Javon was an annoying little boy. We said he looked like a rat. My favorite memory is living with him during our senior year of high school. Riverside was crazy. Rustin Prowl!
Bridesmaid
I'd say my favorite memory is the hilarity of that night Brittney came over in high school and we stayed up all night long working on an English project. I can't remember the specifics but I know I made a joke about Brittney waking herself up by sticking her head outside in the chilly air and made a funny sound for the screen door opening and closing that I can't spell. We were so delirious we bust out laughing and couldn't stop. 😂🤣 On a solemn note, I really appreciated that she called me after her dad passed. It meant a lot to me that Brittney knew if she needed me I'd drop everything and show up. It let me know that even though we don't talk every day or week, she sees me as reliable and dependable.

We’ve known each other since high school, first meeting at our former church, where our families became incredibly close. Over the years, we’ve been through everything together—graduations, careers, kids, and now, a beautiful marriage. We were part of a tight-knit crew we called “LAJ and Steve,” named after our group: Lentez, Ablessin, Javon, and my brother Steve Jr. Whether we were in church or just hanging out, we were always laughing but always supporting each other. Our love for God and friendship only deepened over time. One of my favorite memories of Javon is from our church youth group, where we were both poetry writers. We had a friendly (but serious!) rivalry on Youth Sundays to see who could deliver the best original poem. What Javon didn’t know then is that I secretly admired his writing and performance style. His words always inspired me—and honestly, they still do. We also had the silliest freestyle battles. Neither of us had bars, but we had a blast every time…..and of course, I always won.
Bridesmaid
My most vivid memory of Brittney is the day we first met. I was drawn to her during the opening activity at a marketing conference. I was instantly intrigued by her and knew I wanted to get to know her better. Her spirit, style and confidence lit up the room. I feel incredibly lucky to have met her and to have gotten to know her and now call her a friend.

Me, Javon (we called him j-Roc), and Chris Greene would skip class and walk around the trees in the woods. I don’t know what my favorite memory is, but there are a lot of them. And we just gettin’ started. There will be more.
