Janelle and Jeremy first met in 2021 when she was hired to be his replacement at work. After 7 weeks of training for 8 hours a day by each other's side, a spark ignited. They both had developed a crush on one another and told their friends and family, but not each other. After the 7 weeks of training was up, Janelle continued to work 2 hours after her shift was over to "assist" Jeremy in his final tasks, secretly hoping he would take the opportunity to ask her out. Unbeknownst to her, he was unsure if he should ask her out due to their co-working situation and did not want to risk making it awkward as he was unsure if she liked him too. After several moments of overthinking, Janelle took a deep breath and asked Jeremy if he wanted to go out after work to celebrate the end of their training pass down. Jeremy accepted and they got dinner together at City Tacos and ended up confessing their feelings for each other later that night at a local bar. After deciding to take it slow, they ended the night by watching shooting stars together in Matt's backyard (Jeremy's former roommate).
