It’s March 26th, 2018. Abbie was working at 1201 Kitchen, where she had been working for a couple years now. James walked in, sat at the bar, and filled out an application. Abbie noticed something about him that had her so excited that she ended up tweeting about it. He was wearing a band tee, but the band on the shirt just so happened to be Abbie’s favorite, Balance and Composure. James ended up being hired. After a few conversations, they quickly realized they knew a handful of the same people, and had been in the same places at the same times, but had somehow never crossed paths. Their friendship grew quickly as they realized they had an absurd amount of things in common. James left the restaurant after a while, but they still remained friends. In 2020, James came back to work at 1201 Kitchen. Their friendship continued to grow. In April of 2021, James asked Abbie if she wanted to go to a play together that one of their regulars from the restaurant was starring in. They went to the play on April 16th, and then went to Lavery’s after to grab some drinks. They spent the evening talking about anything and everything, as they always had, but this time was different. Fast forward to a week later, they both had gone to a drag show with separate groups. James came over to Abbie, handed her a Gin and Tonic, and invited her to hangout after the show. They met up after and spent another evening talking for hours, until they had both fallen asleep on James’ couch. From that night on, they were inseparable. Their friendship had bloomed into the most beautiful relationship. The perfect match. On May 28th, 2021, they made their relationship official. For their one year anniversary, they booked a cute trip to Columbus to celebrate. While Abbie was getting ready in their airbnb bedroom, James had been sprinkling rose petals and placing candles out for the best surprise of Abbie’s life. James came and got Abbie, having her cover her eyes, and guiding her to the romantic set up. This is where he asked her to marry him. When you know, you know.
