We met online in the spring of 2023 and, after several weeks of messaging, decided to meet for our first date—a casual beer in Downtown Bozeman. Although we’d taken different paths to that moment, it quickly became clear that while our journeys had been unique, the values we shared and the futures we envisioned were remarkably aligned. That summer, our dates turned into weekends filled with horseback rides (on Cullan's horses Viva and Pig) and camping trips, and weeknights became opportunities for house projects and landscaping, with Gunner by our side. It didn’t take long for us to realize this was more than a shared love of Montana life—it was a meeting of hearts, values, and dreams. Over the next year and a half, our bond grew stronger through incredible adventures and everyday moments. Together, we built a garden, raised chickens, and established our first honey bee colony. In just three unforgettable weeks last fall, we also welcomed three new members to our family: Loki, our outdoor cat; Bingo, Jake's new horse; and Winston, our playful GWP puppy. By October 2024, we knew our shared future was something we both couldn’t wait to begin. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, during a horseback ride to Mirror Lake in the Spanish Peaks, Jake got on one knee and singing, “This is it.” With Montana’s breathtaking wilderness as the backdrop, Jake asked Cullan to marry him—and the rest, as they say, is history. Now, as we prepare to get married this August at 320 Guest Ranch, surrounded by the Montana wildflowers and loved ones who have supported us, we look back on that spring of 2023 with gratitude. Neither of us could have known how much our lives would change, but today we know one thing for certain: we’ve found our partner, our best friend, and our greatest adventure.
