La Jolla Recommendations
La Jolla has lots to offer while you are in town for our wedding! One of the most popular activities is checking out the seals in La Jolla Cove at Seal Rock. If you want to get in the water, you can go kayaking through the caves with La Jolla Kayak. La Jolla also offers great shopping and dining. Some of our favorite restaurants are Puesto or The Taco Stand for delicious tacos, Duke's La Jolla or Catania for great ocean views, and El Pescador for seafood.
Scenic Hikes & Walks
Torrey Pines State Reserve is our favorite hiking spot in San Diego. It offers multiple trails with great views of the ocean! Balboa Park is one of the most popular parks in San Diego. It has multiple museums, gardens, and walking paths through the beautiful park. If you want to walk by the water, we recommend a walk around the Harbor Island Park.
Our Favorite Neighborhoods
Old Town is a historic neighborhood in San Diego that is great for tourists! They are known for their Mexican restaurants, parks, and shopping. Some of the most famous restaurants are Old Town Mexican Cafe and Cafe Coyote. Our personal favorite neighborhood in San Diego is Little Italy in Downtown San Diego. For great rooftop bars, we recommend Kettner Exchange or Born and Raised. Other great restaurants in Little Italy are Crack Shack, Barbusa, and Nolita Hall. It is also right by Waterfront Park, located along the harbor. Pacific Beach is another great place to go if you want to have a beach day! You can go spend the day at the beach in this relaxed neighborhood, have a drink at one of the many beach front bars, and get some great food! Last, but not least, we recommend visiting Coronado Island! You can take a ferry from downtown or drive. It's home to the famous Hotel Del Coronado, which offers great drinks on the beach and lots of history.
